- Description:
- This November 6, 1979, article by Jim Schlosser of the Greensboro Record, the wife of a defendant in the shooting of five members of the Communist Workers Party (CWP) at an anti-Klan rally in Greensboro on November 3, 1979, states that she and her husband joined the Klan innocently and that her husband is innocent of murder. Karen Clinton, wife of Michael Eugene Clinton, states that the couple attended a KKK gathering out of youthful curiosity and fear of communism, and says that her husband was not a participant in the shootings, but ran and hid when the violence began.
