- Description:
- The 1967 Guilford College yearbook, The Quaker, shows increased faculty diversity. Added to the faculty were Dr. Surindar S. Suri and James C. McMillian, McMillian being the first African American male instructor. This yearbook also highlights current events both directly related to the college, as well as events throughout the country and world. Included is a candid shot of African delegates talking in a hallway at an event held at the college. Finally, a collage of words, terms, and events under the political science department includes: KKK, Viet Nam, inflation, and Lunar Orbiter 2, showing the current political and social issues of that year.
