- Description:
- Image of a letter by civil rights worker Lester G. McKinnie addressed to "Jim." McKinnie provides information about two students from Milsap, Mississippi who are interested in working in the civil rights movement. McKinnie encourages Jim to use an "unmarked envelope" when contacting these individuals. McKinnie describes an incident in which his car had a flat tire and Milsap students gave him a ride to the service station where the car was repaired. McKinnie asserts that the he and the students discussed the support for the civil rights movement that the students and faculty in Milsap had but were often afraid to publicly show because of possible ramifications. McKinnie then notes that he was in a car accident after he retrieved his car from having the flat tire repaired.
