- Records collected by the Mississippi Sovereignty Commission on the Black Panther Party. The folder consists mostly of articles published in newspapers and magazines around the country about the Black Panther Party in California, members' trials, and other controversies. There is also a report of an investigation by the Sovereignty Commission into alleged Black Panther Party work in Port Gibson, Mississippi, a memo naming John Hewlett as a member of the party, a memorandum about the situation with various African Americans throughout the state and selections of the biography of Huey Newton written by Bobby Seale.
