Abstract for Lightner and Hooper: [00:00–28:52] Interview begins mid-interview with Gwen Lightner speaking about Jackson's fallout with producer Irving Townsend in 1969. Lightner speaks about Jackson's first husband, Ike, and their relationship after their divorce – 6:55. They go on to speak about Cylestine "Polly" Fletcher – 12:33 and Jackson's relationship with Boy Baby (son of Reverend John Thurston) – 21:08. They discuss the crowd draw at her last major concert in Montreal, and at her show "Salute to Black Women" at Lincoln Center, which included guests Mohammed Ali, Rosa Parks, and Coretta Scott King – 24:09. [00:00–28:49] LG107Goreau_Side2 begins mid-interview with Mary Ann Hooper speaking about the production of Jackson's 1968 benefit "Festival of the Stars" and the complications and changes that that entailed. She discusses the beginnings of their relationship, her impressions of Jackson, and why she chose to work with her. They have a candid discussion about Jackson's relationship with Minters Galloway and the unknown fact that she at one point drafted a will to leave her estate entirely to him – 12:05. They then discuss the production of "Salute to Black Women" – 18:09. Goreau reveals that she was motivated to write her biography to amend the biography "Moving on Up," which she and Jackson believe portrayed her as a "prejudiced person" – 25:24. Questioning if Jackson read and approved the manuscript, Hooper and Goreau discuss Jackson's upbringing and lack of formal education – 27:09.
