Side 2: Recordings of Mahalia Jackson, Edwin Hogan, and Russell Goode singing and playing for fun.[17:21 – 31:54] Interview with Mahalia Jackson from her home in June 1967 is captured on LG053Goreau_Side1. Jackson shares memories and interactions with various celebrities and colleagues while reviewing her 1962 scrapbook. She talks about Helen Traubel, Anthony Quinn, Nelson Riddle, Louis Prima, Lawrence Olivier, and Fredric March and several others.
This recording was digitized in 2020 as part of a Recordings at Risk grant funded project administered by CLIR, "Tell the real story of me": Mahalia Jackson and Black Gospel Quartets in the South.
