- Side 1: Interview with Marlene Miles (secretary for Irving Townsend) of Columbia Records on 1972-09-25 in Los Angeles, California, conducted by telephone. Interview with Gwen Lightner on S. I. Hayakawa, on 1972-09-25, conducted by telephone. Side 2: Interview with Ella Fitzgerald on 1972-09-25, at her home in Los Angeles, California, conducted by telephone. Abstract for Fitzgerald: [00:00–11:44] On LG032Goreau_Side2, Ella Fitzgerald, speaking via phone from her Los Angeles home, recalls that she "never really had that much conversation" with Jackson. However, Fitzgerald does go on to describe Fitzgerald as someone who gave of herself unselfishly to help others, and mentioned an instance where Jackson asked her to participate in a benefit concert for unwed mothers. She also speaks glowingly of Jackson's legacy, and mentions attending Jackson's Chicago funeral.
