Jackson describes the trouble she had in the hospital and how working in New Orleans in her youth could have made her ill years later - 9:36. She mentions the letters she received while in the hospital from the President and famous actors and musicians - 15:50. Jackson briefly talks about local medicine traditions in New Orleans - 17:40. She talks about being sick during her tour of Europe and then recovering enough to perform for President Johnson at the White House - 21:37. Jackson then talks about her early involvement in political movements shortly after the second World War - 28:10.
