Mattie Jones, a Louisville civil rights activist, was a close friend of Anne Braden. Jones describes how she experienced racial discrimination as a young African American in Louisville before and during the civil rights movement. She explains how she became an activist as a result of her experiences and describes her involvement in several organizations working for social justice. Jones talks how she met Anne Braden, began working with her and became her friend. She discusses Braden's character and her contribution to the community.
