- An officer in the Chicago Police Department for the 18th district, Padar was on duty during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in twelve hour shifts. Threats the week before the DNC made the police very tense. A lack of adequate communication between officers on the ground and those at headquarters also became a problem while trying to police the city during the convention. Padar was there when police tear gassed Lincoln Park and also witnessed interactions between protestors and fellow officers while on patrol.
