- Sue Levins grew up in a middle-class family in Skokie and was home on summer vacation from her studies at the University of Miami during the 1968 convention. She went to Lincoln Park on the first day of the convention with close friends from her high school just to check out what was going on. Though eager to go home at 11pm when the police requested the protesters to leave, her friends; who also happened to be her ride home, wished to stay and see what would happen. Unintentionally involved in a Police sweep and rebuttal by protesters including Allen Ginsburg, Sue Levins and her friends were luckily rescued by running into an old friend who gave them a ride out of the area.
