- This audio recording features a conversation between Mr. Albert Bethune, Jr. (Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune's grandson), Dr. Cleo Higgins (the Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs), and Mrs. Senorita Locklear (Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune's secretary) at the Faculty Development Center on the campus of Bethune-Cookman College. This audio recording opens with the planning of a presentation on Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, followed by some of the challenges that Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune faced as a leader. Dr. Higgins speaks about Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune as a mother, grandmother, leader, and her icon. Mrs. Senorita Locklear speaks about her experience and admiration of Mary McLeod Bethune.
