- This audio recording features the dedication ceremony of the Commemorative Observance of the Issuance of the 22-cent Mary McLeod Bethune US Postage Stamp, honoring Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune-the eighth issue in the Black Heritage Series, in Washington, D.C. This ceremony includes perfomances from the Wildcats Band and chorale choir, student and faculty remarks, and the Presentation of Colors. At 00:10:15, President Bronson provides the opening statement and honors Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune. At 00:22:57, Dr. Cleo S. Higgins, Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty, delivers words of commemoration. At 00:39:42, Mr. James E. Whitford, Daytona Beach Postmaster, presents the 22-cent Mary McLeod Bethune Commemorative Stamp. This ceremony concludes with a recital of the litany of remembrance, led by Dr. Rogers P. Fair, Sr. of College Chaplain.
