- Description:
- This video recording features footage from the 24th Annual Garnett-Nabrit Lecture series. The video opens with prayer by Dr. Odell McGlothian, and followed by recital of "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" at (04:05). An overview of the program schedule is given and institutional announcements are made at (07:40). The American Baptist College Choir, led by Mrs. Angelique Banks-Coleman performs "Victory Shall Be Mine" (14:00) and "When Peace, Like a River" (17:44). Following the performance Reverend Dr. Edward V. Hill delivers a sermon focusing on depression within the black community (25:53). At (1:00:25) Dr. McGlothian transitions the congregation into the singing of hymnal "I Surrender All", followed by a prayer and the recital of "The Church's One Foundation" led by the President Boddie (1:09:51). A prayer and introduction are given for Dr. Harvey G. Cox at (1:14:09) who speaks on the theme "Church and State" Separation and or Cooperation" at (1:24:34). The video then cuts off (2:03:41).
