- The program for the Thirtieth Annual Garnett-Nabrit Lectures (GNL) series, focusing on the theme, "Christian Education and Church Growth" with a 1987 emphasis on "Discipleship." The GNL series, which started in 1958, is an annual minister's institute, honoring the legacies of J.M. Nabrit, the fourth president of American Baptist College and J.H. Garnett, a former dean of American Baptist College. Every year, religious leaders and scholars gather to address issues regarding religious leadership and service. This GNL features Dr. Charles Emerson Boddie, Dr. E. Edward Jones, and Dr. James Earl Gannon.
