Chess and his Goats have been traveling from Maine to Florida for over 20 years--covering over 80,000 miles, His headquarters is the Free Thinking Christian Mission, Route 2, Jeffersonville, Georgia." Before becoming the wandering Goat Man, McCartney worked for the WPA cutting timber until he suffered an accident that crippled his left arm.
