Photo by Stetson Kennedy, who served as Mitchell's editorial assistant, and prepared poll tax and other suffrage materials eventually published bu Southern Regional Council et al." Stetson Kennedy (1916-2011), writer and civil rights activist, collected these photographs during the course of his career fighting for equality throughout the Southern United States.
