- Fla. WPA; 11/3/36, Key WEst, Fla.; Text on reverse: "Work has started on another street betterment project in Key West, and WPA workers are bending their efforts toward improvement of this street running through one of the newer and nicer residential sections of the Island City. Workers have had to dynamite considerably on this street, passing over solid coral rock as it does." Stetson Kennedy (1916-2011), writer and civil rights activist, collected these photographs during the course of his career fighting for equality throughout the Southern United States.
