- Text on reverse: "Negro child, resident of New York City's Harlem black ghetto, after being attacked by rats in his sleep. In Chicago and other cities children of slum dwellers have bled to death from rat bites. Labeled 107 Infant bitten by rat in New York City, it shows 2-month-old Ralph Taylor, negro infant, with three vicious holes in his right arm." Stetson Kennedy (1916-2011), writer and civil rights activist, collected these photographs during the course of his career fighting for equality throughout the Southern United States.
