- Description:
- Consists of newspaper clippings, newsletters, and notes about the Atlanta Department of Public Safety Firefighter promotions, the role of racial inequity, and voting on union dues. To fight the racial inequity a memorandum of understanding was created between the IAFF Local 134 and the Black Firefighters of City of Atlanta to jointly seek a resolution on racial issues within the Department of Public Safety. Subsequent press releases announce the agreement on racial balance in the Atlanta, GA fire department and the hiring of black firefighters as station chiefs.
