The Boulevard Riots took place on the 9th and 11th of September 1966 following the Summerhill Race Riots of the 6th. The Boulevard Riots started over the shooting of a young African American man, and the following Monday over the arrest of SNCC leader Stokley Carmichael, who had instigated the Summerhill Race Riot. - Local Identifier:
