Stuart E. Eizenstat (b. 1943) is a lawyer and former government official. From 1977 to 1981, he served as President Jimmy Carter's Chief Domestic Policy Advisor as well as the Executive Director of the White House Domestic Policy Staff. He served as President Bill Clinton's Under Secretary of State for Economic, Business, and Agricultural Affairs from 1997 to 1999 and the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury from 1999 to 2001. He also served as the United States Ambassador to the European Union from 1993 to 1996. - Local Identifier:
