- The Rev. Irvin Cheney of Daytona Beach, Fl. wrote this eyewitness account of the Ku Klux Klan's assault on Robert Hayling and his three young companions. Cheney attended the Klan rally as a curious observer and secretly taped the proceedings. As the rally turned violent, Cheney escaped and alerted the authorities.
