- Description:
- Appraisal reports related to parcel 11-9 located at 206 W. 3rd St. and 206 W. 2nd St., Greenville, N.C. and owned by J. R. Starkey. Parcel Appraisal Report (1962) by D.G. Nichols, Realtor. Parcel Appraisal Report (1964) by W. Calvin Reynolds, SRA. J. R. Starkey, Jr. A West Appraisal (1963) by George M. West, Real Estate Appraiser. Included in the reports are photographs of the house on the parcel. The parcel was purchased and the house demolished as part of the Shore Drive Redevelopment Project meant to "revitalize" Greenville's downtown area, but which broke up a vibrant African American community and displaced over 250 African American families in the name of economic development. The photograph dated July 19, 1965 shows the empty lot after the property's demolition.
