- Oral history interview of African American educator Ruth Mann, in Bath, NC. The interview covers all aspects of Mann's life including: her upbringing in a Pantego, NC family of teachers and farmers, education, segregation, integration, marriage, children, and move to New York City, NY, and education at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical College, in Greensboro, NC (1960-1964), her first degree in finance, her second degree in education from East Carolina University, her teaching career as an African American teacher in Beaufort County, NC in the Pantego Elementary School, Northside High School, and church activities. Other topics of interest include: the civil rights movement, Jesse Jackson, and Martin Luther King. Interviewer: Barbara Cartwright.
