- The Clifford Baldowski cartoon depicts three scenes of General Douglas MacArthur with a briefcase labeled "A military man." In 1944, he is knocking on the door to "Power in Washington" using "Old Guard following". In 1948, he is trying to bust the door down with the "Wisconsin Primary." In 1952, he is holding Senator Robert A. Taft's coattails. Taft is leading him to the door, carrying a hatchet.
