- The Clifford "Baldy" Baldowski cartoon depicts a magician labeled "merchants," who is standing on a stage. He pulls a rabbit that has the head of Garland Byrd out of a top hat labeled "special interests." The rabbit holds a piece of paper that says "sales tax rebate stays, Garland Byrd." In the audience a number of people labeled "public interests" looks on with shock and concern. John Q. Public is among them.
