- The Clifford "Baldy" Baldowski cartoon depicts four men dressed in military uniforms standing upon the globe. They represent the four military branches: the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. They hold up a table top that says "America's bargaining position today." The papers lying on the table are labeled "peace" and "freedom." Under the men and next to a sign labeled "Our man-at-arms" is a quote from Douglas MacArthur that reads "When I think of his patience in adversity of his courage under fire and of his modesty in victory, I am filled with an emotion of admiration I cannot put into words."
