- Description:
- The Clifford Baldowski cartoon depicts four scenes. In the first, Tom Murphy is squatting on the ledge of the Supreme Court Building. An onlooker inside is saying "--The crash of '82. The Speaker just found out he can't represent clients suing the state any longer." In the second scene, two GOP men are talking to Franklin Sutton who is wearing a "Sutton for Lt. Gov." button. Sutton has a "GOP" hat behind his back and a Democratic button in his pocket. One man is saying to the other, "Cooper, with the large Platinum membership our party has--Where did you dig him up?"In the next scene, two men are talking. One is holding a clipboard and saying, "First the good news from our survey - 60 percent of South Georgia has never heard of you. Then the bad news - 60 percent of North Georgia has never heard of me." In the last scene, Joe Frank Harris is looking at a heap of people who are labeled "Can't Say No Bo [Callaway]," "Wine 'n Cheese [Norman] Underwood," "Giveaway [Bo] Ginn," and "Hollywood [Jack] Watson." Harris is standing above them, brushing his hands together and saying, "How am I gonna get my campaign off the ground with that bunch of garbage?"
