Alonzo Wright was one of the most successful black entrepreneurs in Cleveland's history and was the city's first black millionaire. He was the first African American to lease a Sohio Gas Station. He operated 11 gas stations in 1940 and he had hired the largest number of black youths in the United States. Wright left the gas station business and established a real estate firm. He owned the Carnegie Hotel, Ritzwood Hotel, and established the Dunbar Nursing Home. - Metadata URL:
