- Jo Blatti interviews Jo Evelyn Elston, a Little Rock public schools administrator and counselor, about her family and early life in Chicago and Parkin, Arkansas, including experiences of segregation and her undergraduate and graduate education at University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She discusses the role of teachers as mentors in public schools, her volunteer work with Youth and Family Services, Friends of the Arts at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Arkansas Symphony. She also speaks about the importance of the Catholic Church to her life, and the need to develop and encourage family and community resources.
