- This collection is comprised of Pratt Remmel's papers as well as Arkansas Republican Party records.
The Arkansas Republican Party records include correspondence, membership lists, minutes, newspaper clippings, financial records, official vote counts, delegate lists, press releases, appointments, petitions, certificates of nomination, photographs, publications, speeches, and mailing lists. There are also newspaper clippings regarding the Republican Party's Lily White movement, an effort by white conservatives to remove black leaders from positions of power and influence, and lists of black leaders and their positions in the Arkansas Republican Party. Remmel donated these papers, many of them likely received from his father and great-uncle, along with his personal papers.
The Pratt Remmel mayoral papers series include correspondence, election material, speeches, personal papers, publications, newspaper clippings, and photographs from Remmel's two terms as the mayor of Little Rock in the early 1950s.
The newspapers series contains full issues of several Arkansas Republican newspapers as well as clippings documenting central Arkansas and Pratt Remmel's mayoral campaigns and career.
The photograph series includes pictures depicting Pratt Remmel during his mayoral terms, often with prominent state and national politicians. There are also images of influential Arkansas Republicans and Young Republicans National Federation meetings.
In the scrapbook series, there are scrapbooks about Pratt Remmel's mayoral career along with one scrapbook of clippings about the Republican Party in Arkansas compiled by Republican leader George Mallory.
