Written on verso: Voting Rights Hearing -- During a hearing on the Voting Rights Act at the 24th annual convention of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S. Congressman Harold Washington, (D-Calif.) addresses the need for the Act's extension.
