- Vice President Walter Mondale joins hands with Coretta Scott King, Andrew Young, and Martin Luther King, Sr. at an event. Written on verso: Vice President Mondale (2nd l) joins hands with Coretta Scott King (l), Andrew Young, United States Ambassador to the U.N.; and Martin Luther King Sr., recently in New York. In a speech delivered to the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Social Change, Mondale discussed the Carter Administration commitment to civil rights legislation and affirmative action policies. He also outlined the Administration's proposal on a broad range of domestic issues, including the need for a full employment bill. "Let no one doubt where this administration stands," said Mondale. "we are committed to civil rights; we are committed to equal opportunity; and we are committed to equal justice under the law."
