Description:: This video features proceedings from the 16th Annual SCLC/W.O.M.E.N. Drum Major for Justice Awards Dinner in honor of the 27th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s assassination, hosted by Evelyn G. Lowery and CNN news journalist Lyn Vaughn, on April 4, 1995 in Atlanta, Georgia. This video opens with an introduction of distinguished guests by Vaughn and an introduction of the program by Aaron Turpeau. This video includes a musical performance by Bill Pinkney and the Original Drifters followed by the presentation of the Drum Major for Justice Awards in Education, Business, Law and Justice, and Organized Labor. Award recipients include Hydeia Broadbent (Youth), Johnnetta B. Cole (Education), Florence Alexander (Education), Willie and Gloria Gary (Business), Beverly Harvard (Law and Justice), Jackie Barrett (Law and Justice), and Clayola Brown (Organized Labor).
