- This video features a produced episode of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference's (SCLC) "The Contemporary Chapter" documenting the 34th Annual SCLC Convention awards banquet in 1991. The video opens with a narration of SCLC's influence in the civil rights movement followed by footage of the presentation of awards by SCLC President Joseph E. Lowery. Lowery presents the Rosa Parks Award to the Delta Pride Catfish Workers of Indianola, Mississippi, the 1991 SCLC Chapter Award to the Dallas, Texas SCLC chapter, the Faithful Servant Award to Reverend Calvin Peterson, the Sanctity of Life Award to the Fellowship of Reconciliation organization, and other awards to civil and human rights leaders for their leadership and commitment to justice, love, and peace.
