- This video features proceedings from the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) 39th Annual Convention held in Detroit, Michigan. This video opens with SCLC President Joseph E. Lowery speaking at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan. Lowery preaches around the subject "Who We Be", in which he emphasizes redefining ourselves and challenging the criminal justice and political systems to create more economic opportunities within Black communities. Lowery encourages the congregation to unite despite differences and difficulties. At 01:20:30, Lowery speaks about terrorism and the refusal to "bow down", in which he addresses church burnings, the bombing at Centennial Olympic Park, police brutality, poverty, and equal education. Lowery encourages the congregation to unite to fight against social terrorism, political terrorism, and economic terrorism, violence, and economic injustice. This video concludes with the singing of "We Shall Overcome".
