The meeting opens with Jennings sharing the three stages of African American voters' experiences: 1) Securing the right to vote, 2) Maximizing minority participation and registration, 3) Making sure every vote counts and is counted. Meeting attendees address concerns on vote monitoring, voting resources, voter registration, and unjust voting conditions. Other speakers include Martin Luther King, III and Patrick Merloe, the senior associate and director of electoral programs at the National Democratic Institute.
