- This video features two produced episodes of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference's (SCLC) "The Contemporary Chapter". The first episode consists of a compilation of several SCLC activities over the 1980s and up to 1991 that are highlighted alongside a voiceover and footage of SCLC President Joseph E. Lowery's speech during the 34th Annual SCLC Convention held in Birmingham, Alabama. The second episode includes commentary by Lowery speaking outside of the SCLC national headquarters and excerpts of footage related to Winn-Dixie grocery store boycotts, Nelson Mandela's visit to Atlanta, police brutality hearings, SCLC's anti-drug campaign, and HIV/AIDS awareness.
