- This video features footage of Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) President Joseph E. Lowery and other SCLC staff members visiting towns and cities in Virginia to examine the living conditions of poor people. The video also includes footage of a meeting of the Virginia State Unit of the SCLC (beginning at 00:21:14), held as part of the 33rd Annual SCLC Convention. Speakers at the meeting discuss health care, the economy, capital punishment, poverty, and drug and alcohol abuse. Note: Tape recorded with bad tracking the last 19 minutes of tape causing video tearing and video dropouts, ingested as is.
