- This video features the proceedings of the 23rd Annual SCLC/W.O.M.E.N. Drum Major for Justice Awards Dinner. The proceedings, hosted by WXIA journalist Brenda Wood, includes remarks by Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and SCLC/W.O.M.E.N. Board members Clayola Brown and Miriam Poe. Award recipients include Nathaniel R. Goldston, III (founder of the Atlanta chapter of 100 Black Men of America), Dr. Bernard J. Bridges, Dr. Walter Young, Dr. Ruth J. Simmons, FDNY Chief Steven Bernius, FDNY firefighter Kenneth Escoffery, United Airlines Flight 93 pilot LeRoy Homer, Jr. (posthumously awarded), and Judge Glenda Hatchett. The recording concludes with a special presentation to SCLC/W.O.M.E.N. founder Evelyn G. Lowery and remarks by Lowery.
