- This video features a Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday event held in a Jewish synagogue in Kansas City, Missouri. The recording opens with Kansas City Mayor Emanuel Cleaver addressing the crowd, in which he introduces Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) President Joseph E. Lowery. In his speech, Lowery talks about the nature of the King Holiday and the character of an authentic celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday. The recording closes with all event attendees singing "We Shall Overcome".
