- This audio recording features candid audio of an interview with Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) President Joseph E. Lowery, Evelyn G. Lowery, and others. The Lowerys and other interviewees talk about their work with SCLC and their experiences in the civil rights movement in Alabama in the 1950s and 1960s. Lowery recalls his experiences in the civil rights movement, including his interactions with Alabama Governor George Wallace.
