- Description:
- This audio recording features a keynote address at the 15th Annual Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) Convention delivered by SCLC Board Chairman Joseph E. Lowery. Lowery speaks to the topic of "America's Unfinished Symphony", which Lowery defines as being unfinished due to implementation issues, not for lack of declaration for change. In his speech, Lowery speaks about the need to withdraw from the Vietnam War and the inequities in the United States that socially, economically, and politically disadvantage the Black community. The speech concludes at 00:41:00 and the remainder of the recording is a repeat of a segment of the speech. Audio note: Low distorted audio high background noise and high noise floor throughout recording playback; Inconsistent channel volume levels throughout recording playback.
