- This video features footage of events that were part of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) 30th Anniversary Selma to Montgomery March commemoration. The recording opens with the organization of marchers in the streets of Montgomery, Alabama with the singing of freedom songs. Footage then shows SCLC representatives assembled on the steps of the Alabama State Capitol. After a prayer delivered by Dr. Marshall Hodges of Dallas, Texas, various speakers come to the podium to address the crowd including various representatives from across Alabama, U.S. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Deval Patrick, Reverend Jesse Jackson, and SCLC President Joseph E. Lowery. An unidentified speaker thanks the civil rights movement for the path it paved to the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The event continues with other speakers addressing current issues impacting voting rights and the work of people to advance civil rights for all. The recording concludes with the event attendees singing "We Shall Overcome". There is no audio from 00:54:20 to 00:54:55.
