- Description:
- This video features footage of various scheduled events that are part of the SCLC/W.O.M.E.N. Civil Rights Heritage Tour on March 3, 2007. The video opens with tour attendees standing outside of Mt. Tabor A.M.E. Zion Church as they remember Coretta Scott King. The video then switches to the group at Albert Turner, Sr.'s SCLC/W.O.M.E.N. historical marker, at which speakers recall Turner and the Selma to Montgomery March in 1965. The group then goes to Reverend James Orange's historial marker and The Civil Rights Freedom Wall of Perry County, Alabama monument, as well as Jimmie Lee Jackson's monument, in which Boy Scout members participate in the litany. Evelyn Turner, the wife of Albert Turner, Sr., speaks briefly at Jimmie Lee Jackson's monument. Footage then switches to the tour group at Jimmie Lee Jackson's gravesite, at which several tour attendees share their thoughts about the history they are learning. The recording then switches to the group gathered at a historical marker for Reverend James J. Reeb in Selma, Alabama. The video concludes with a talent show that was held as part of the tour program events.
