- This audio recording features an interview with Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) chapter president for Houston County, Alabama Pearlean S. Jackson in which she speaks about her work in the civil rights movement. Jackson speaks about the Christian underpinnings of the SCLC and of the civil rights movement as a whole. In the interview, Jackson remarks on the inequities in the educational, economic, and social conditions of African Americans.
