- This video features footage of events from the SCLC/WOMEN Civil Rights Heritage Tour on March 6, 2004. The video begins at the National Voting Rights Museum in Selma, Alabama. At 00:04:00, while traveling on the tour bus, John Lewis shares in an interview his reasons for joining the civil rights movement in Selma. At 00:07:35, couples of the civil rights movement such as Joseph and Evelyn Lowery, Johnnie Carr and Jack Jordan, Spiver Gordon and his wife, and James Orange and Cleophas Orange, are honored for their partnership, influence in the movement, and representation of Black love. At 00:34:20, Rose Sanders (now known as Faya Ora Rose Toure) sings a self-written song, "I Love My Black Man", followed by a presentation of awards, remarks by Fred Shuttlesworth, John Lewis, Charles Steele and others, and tribute songs dedicated to Joseph and Evelyn Lowery to honor their commitment to marriage and the movement.
