Description:: This video features the Georgia Coalition for the Peoples' Agenda's Voter Empowerment Crusade Tour from July 19-21, 2002 in Georgia. This video documents the various stops on the tour to demonstrate efforts to promote voter registration and the reduction of the number of unregistered voters in Georgia. This video highlights the various tour stops, speeches, meetings, outreach, and residential voter registration throughout the three day tour accompanied by archival video clips of social and economic issues and injustices. Joseph E. Lowery, the chair of the Georgia Coalition for the Peoples' Agenda, gives a speech about the importance and necessity of voting at each stop of the tour beginning in LaGrange, Columbus, Butler, Fort Gaines, and Cuthbert, Georgia. The recording also includes speeches by Albert Love, Tyrone Brooks, Rita Samuels, and other participants of the Voter Empowerment Crusade Tour.
