- This video features a march, protest, and press conference for Earl T. Shinhoster in New Orleans, Louisiana. Reverend James Orange, Joseph E. Lowery, and other civil rights leaders ask the automobile and tire companies Ford and Firestone, respectively, to stand with civil rights groups to advance voting rights legislation. The car accident in which Shinhoster died involved a Ford vehicle with Firestone tires. Other individuals injured in Ford vehicle/Firestone tire accidents speak at the press conference.
